Edwardian antique bronze & brass single large wall light sconce, 3 arms, by Faraday & Son, signed, 1910`s ca, English.
This antique wall light has been gently cleaned while respecting the age patina. It is newly rewired & earthed, PAT tested by an electrician and ready to install. It has the following new components: E14 Candle lamp holders with card covers, and three clip-on lampshades. Lightbulbs included. This light can be used with a dimmer. It is possible to use this sconce in other countries although it may be necessary to purchase different light bulbs suitable to local electricity.
Presented here is quality antique Edwardian sconce produced by the famous English company Faraday & son circa 1910. It is stamped at the top of the frame: `F&S` a feature of ` Faraday & Son` of London, manufacturers since 1823. It is also stamped behind the frame the model number: `5`.
Made of quality cast bronze & brass, in a combination of hexagonal shapes & steps tapers to enhance the design. The design is kept `soft` with occasional curves and the sinuous arms.
This sconce has large proportions and a great projection from the wall, making it a great statement decorative piece. It would be a sculptural solution where a single light is needed say over stairs, hallway or narrow wall.
At the centre of this design is an impressively bold base in bronze of the shape of half a hexagon. The base towards the top tapers in gradual steps terminating with a decorative point. At the bottom these three sides of the hexagon curve slightly outwards and finishes with a decorative finial.
From the three sides of the base there are 3 architectural decorative columns, each has an arm extending. These three long scrolling brass arms have a square profile which rises & falls before leading to the bronze bobeche drip pan which is also square. The bobeche holds the candle sconce for the lightbulb which is also hexagonal. Each has on top the new candle lamp holder with a new cream card candle cover .
This light carries 3 standard small screw light bulbs (E14) up to 40 Watts. At present these lights are fitted & photographed with Candle clear shaped light bulbs of 25 Watts. These are included in the price. It would be possible to use other (E14) type Candle light bulbs.
This sconce is finished with quality new clip-on black silk candle lampshades. The shade is tapered and has wide pleat detailing, complete with a crepe trim top & bottom. These three shades are included in the price. It would also be possible to display without the shades for a more traditional look.
To fit the sconce to the wall there is an horizontal metal bracket fitted on the back of the frame with two holes. This hooks onto a removable metal plate with two vertical pegs that screws to the wall.
This antique sconce is in good condition. The warm antique patina has been preserved on the metal adding character. The original lacquer is present and an aged patina had developed on the brass. The frame is sound with no damage or missing parts, there are some marks & rubbing in line with age & wear as expected for an antique piece. The 3 lampshades are new and in very good condition.

Packing is offered free of charge. We take special professional care with packing. For safe transport the shades will be wrapped separately in bubble wrap, foam and an outer layer of card. These will be stacked together. The frame will be wrapped similarly. Together these pieces would easily fit into a box with loose fill packing suitable for posting with a courier. We ship with reliable couriers (signed for, tracked & insured).

FARADAY & SON LIGHTING HISTORY
Faraday & Son was founded by Robert Faraday and operated from Wardour Street, London from 1823 - 1925. Robert is listed as brass manufacturer and founder at number 114. Robert was early on involved in the development and installation of more efficient lamps in London schools & public buildings. He produced also many quality high end lighting designs for private interiors.
The company carried on through several generations of Faraday up until 1919 when it was sold to F&C Osler, another company specialising in chandeliers.

Can I cancel an order?
There are many reasons why you might need to cancel an order, and you'll often be entitled to a refund. To cancel an order, click Create cancellation on the order page.
If you cancel your order before it has been dispatched, you will receive a full refund - including delivery costs. However, if your item has been shipped, delivery costs will not be included in your refund.

It isn't what you expected
If what arrives isn’t what you ordered, you can open a return. Just send us some photo evidence that the listing was inaccurate, misleading or misrepresented your purchased piece, and you’ll receive a refund.
You change your mind
If you don’t feel a piece is right for your space, you can return it. Once you request a change of mind return, you’ll be responsible for shipping the piece back to your seller as soon as possible. Delivery costs are non-refundable.
It's damaged in transit
In the rare event that an item arrives damaged or defective, you have a full 30 days from the date of delivery to return it for a full refund.
If your purchase arrives broken, always let us know. If Proovia delivered the piece, we can raise an insurance claim on the seller’s behalf. Or, the seller can raise a claim with their chosen courier.
What can't I return?
Just as there are some orders you can’t cancel, there are some you cant return, too. Personalised, bespoke or made-to-order pieces are non-returnable, and non-refundable. Sellers may also reject your return if the item has been altered in any way.
Please note: pieces on our site are pre-loved, not new. They may show some wear and tear; this is not sufficient grounds for a refund, unless the seller has misrepresented the item’s condition.
Lastly, neither Vinterior nor our sellers are liable for any damages or loss sustained in transit via third parties.

To initiate a return, log into your Vinterior account, then go to the relevant order page and click Create a return. In the return request, be sure to include all the details: the reason for your return, an in-depth description, and photos of any issues or damage.
How will I receive my refund?
Once the seller confirms they’ve received the item (in the same condition it was sent), we will send your refund to your original payment method.
All items are inspected on return. If the seller receives the return with damage they don’t recognise, we will not be able to process your refund and the seller may need to send the piece back to you. You will be required to cover these delivery costs.
